We partnered with Nebraska Abortion Resources (NEAR) to better understand the abortion-seeking process via a series of sequential research and evaluation projects. NEAR is an abortion fund that provides financial and logistical support to people seeking abortion care. The long-term goal of this project is to establish an empirical foundation for the development and modification of supportive systems for abortion seekers. The first of these studies is the Acceptability Study. In this study, we will determine, “how comfortable are people answering questions about themselves and their abortion-seeking experience for research purposes?” Future studies will document enabling and disabling factors to abortion access, and the role of abortion funds as public health intervention.
